Of Change

Change is the only constant. This is an often used sentence that people understand. What many fail to recognise or relate to the that the if Change is the only Constant, it also means that the only Constant is Change.

What both sentence does is the the value of constant is greatly reduced, instead, it is placed as a time-frame and boundary for change, which, in this instance, change is infinity, for it is constant

Confused already?

The reason this argument has arise is because, once again, i'm having changes. People of my parents generation are adverse to change, well, not all, but many are. My father is still working in the same company he started out working since 16, my mother choose not to learn about the internet and more "complicated" functions of her handphone, such as messaging, and i refuse to eat certain vegetables still.

Change brings about uncertainty and fear of the unknown makes us fear change and thus remain constant. But nothing is constant remember? Except change that is.. so "nothing is constant" is not an correct sentence, change is..

Therefore, to make sense of it all and to manage change, one must prepare to face it and handle the emotional and financial impacts of decisions. For example, i left a comfortable office hour job that paid rather decently for the work and had rather good benefits. I left at a bad time, resulting in lost of bonus as well as having to return a "pay-adjustment performance bonus" back to the organisation.

I consider this a bad decision, but change was necessary then. Perhaps i could have handled it better, perhaps perhaps perhaps. The song rings in my mind but the loss hits the heart and the brain, not forgeting the pocket too..

Alright, this post is getting too long, so i shall attempt to stop, so fickle i am to start a post with no end in mind, why? Because i might decide to blog about something(constant) and end up otherwise(change), whatever why, i blogged and made an entry, so that counts..

Footnote: Tried to post this during office hours, clearly they have blocked of blogger.com(which was previously unblocked).. welcome to my world
Will announce the next change when the day comes nearer

Of Airforce Test

Just want to share this link that i got from a friend:

This will drive you nuts!! Have fun!

The object of the game is to move the red block around without getting hit by the blue blocks or touching the black walls.

If you can go longer than 18 seconds you are phenomenal. It's been said that the US Air Force uses this for fighter pilots. They are expected to go on for at least 2 minutes.

Give it a try but be careful...it is addictive!!

Air Force Test

I survived 14.25 seconds.. come on, post your result on my tagbox ->

Of Success Likelihood

The Success Likelihood Test: Results

Success starts from within. Are you able to tap into your full potential, move ahead and do what it takes to be successful? Or are you always stumbling over major obstacles, like fear of failure or lack of confidence? Find out if you are limiting yourself or opening up doors with the Success Likelihood Test.

One might think that all people would want boundless success in both the professional and personal realms of life. Who would want to turn down a promotion, or run away from a lifetime opportunity? Well, the truth is that many of us do. The reasons behind such a conscious or subconscious decision are numerous. Some may find themselves unwilling to uproot the family for relocation and others may be reluctant to take a job that would require killer hours. And then there are those who have a downright fear of success. While the former two are legitimate concerns, a genuine fear of success can keep people from realizing their potential and can force them to retreat into a dark shadow. They embark into a vicious circle of frustration, self-doubt and unconscious success sabotage. They don't do anything to prove themselves worthy of success-and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

My score = 47

What does my score mean?

Website:
Your Success Likelihood Ratio is in the medium range. You are likely to succeed in areas that are apparently within your confidence zone, but you may pass up interesting opportunities that present a challenge. This doesn't mean that you don't have what it takes to meet the challenge. You might well be the most gifted person in the world, but unless you put your talents to the trial, you will never know.

Unless i put my talents to the trial, i'll never know..
