Of Support

Government has been talking about it, people know it, other worry about it.. yes, its OLD AGE, something that affects all of us, are you not worried about how your life would be 50 years down the road?

Would you have that special someone to support you through as you age? To share your food and wait patiently as you munch away using your dentures, well.. your special one can even help you brush your teeth every morning.. if you get what i mean..

so what really matters is finding that someone and being able to stick with him or her through thick and thin, and its relationships such as this that matters to the world..

Find your life support, not just someone you can live with, but also someone you cannot live without.

Of Monkeys

Monkeys in the room (This is based on an actual experiment conducted in U.K. )

Put eight monkeys in a room. In the middle of the room is a ladder, leading to a bunch of bananas hanging from a hook on the ceiling. Each time a monkey tries to climb the ladder, all the monkeys are sprayed with ice water, which makes them miserable. Soon enough, whenever a monkey attempts to climb the ladder, all of the other monkeys, not wanting to be sprayed, set upon him and beat him up.

Soon, none of the eight monkeys ever attempts to climb the ladder. One of the original monkeys is then removed, and a new monkey is put in the room. Seeing the bananas and the ladder, he wonders why none of the other monkeys are doing obvious. But undaunted, he immediately begins to climb the ladder. All the other monkeys fall upon him and beat him silly. He has no idea why. However, he no longer attempts to climb the ladder.

A second original monkey is removed and replaced. The newcomer again attempts to climb the ladder, but all the other monkeys hammer the crap out of him. This includes the previous new monkey, who, grateful that he's not on the receiving end this time, participates in the beating because all the other monkeys are doing it. However, he has no idea why he's attacking the new monkey.

One by one, all the original monkeys are replaced.

Eight new monkeys are now in the room. None of them have ever been sprayed by ice water. None ofthem attempt to climb the ladder. All of them will enthusiastically beat up any new monkey who tries, without having any idea why.

This is how any company's policies get Established.....

AND NOBODY ASK ANY QUESTIONS ANYMORE !!!

Look around and see if you spot any monkeys

Of Options

Its been awhile since i found inspiration to blog, work is draining when it is not satisfying, school work depends alot of who are are working with..

Recently, there's been lots of talk about this CPF retirement thingy and small article in the local news on choosing where to die.. related? I think so ah..

Have you ever thought about how you would die one day? Sickness, pain, accident, die-in-sleep. I'm sure many would prefer to die in their sleep, because its painless

However, as you were unaware that you are probably never going to wake up, dying in your sleep can be annoying, your things might not be settled, you might look ugly, or you could be wearing that less-than-white singlet and worn-out boxers on the night that you might never wake up again.. how bad

Do people actually choose where they die? Can they? Actually, there are many unanswered questions.. when do you die?

Can you decide?

For example, if i'm old(after 70) and sick and i can't eat 90% of the things i would like to eat, am i still alive? I'm a living-dead.. by then, i hope i can decide if i want to live or not.. can i choose to disengage?

Think about it, assuming that i'm very old, a little sick, but still sane enough to make decisions but not healthy enough to live my life respectfully, and i decide to end my life.. is that morbid?

If i can set a date for the decision, my children(if any) can then make a better effort to spend more time with me before my passing, my friends can meet me for the last time and i can say goodbye in my blog and depart respectfully, all these without have to work till the age of 75 and waiting for my CPF at age 85

Not bad right?

Guess this is extremely useful for spouse who lose their loved ones to old age

I know i'm morbid, but you got to have options right?

Of Survival

To quote a point from a movie i watched recently: "in adulthood, a job is something that you hold to keep your family going, people hate their jobs, people don't enjoy what they are doing, but they get on with it because they need to"

How true

Once again, it seems that i'm seeped into thoughts about what is right for me, or in fact, could there ever be something that is right for me?

Still in my second working year, i'm already into my second job, still, i do not find a sense of belonging, and i find little pleasure in my work. The culture is largely different and communication, very poor.. compared to certain places where you can face someone to talk directly about work-related problems with a view to solve issues, here, voices are easily drowned by people who "know better" simply because they have been here longer..

The movie, The Ex, which depicts this poor guy who is takes on a job for the better of his family and struggle to make an impact left a strong impression in me.. the guy is not useless or lazy, he too hopes to make a mark and be someone his family can be proud of and at the same time be happy and at east with himself at work.. yet, this is so very very difficult to achieve..

I should perhaps count my blessings and let the days pass and continue the long journey to complete my degree, but i'm no silent lamb, i cannot keep still, i cannot keep quiet
This is me, troubled and disturbed by my internal struggles and countless questioning thoughts that overcrowd my feeble mind

At least at it all, there is something to fight for, someone to live, and for that, i will survive *Song "I will survive" plays in the back of my klayhead as i return my focus back into my current work and look forward to better times ahead and that 6pm display on the bottom-right of the screen everyday

I will survive

Of Great Looking

How times has really changed.. from the gloom of Henry's departure to talks of the Professor leaving the club as well, the team has now gone 4 games unbeaten, tied in 2nd place with Liverfool FC and into the group stages of the Champions league after convincingly beating Sparta Prague 5-0 over 2 legs..

What a performance last night, and it was great to have wifey with me as the team went about their business. Everyone played quite well i must say, but Fabregas, Rosicky, Flamini, Toure, Clinchy and Almunia were all contenders for man-of-the-match.. that was how great a performance it was. When Senderos was sent off in the 49th minute, Arsenal had 2 goals to nil and it look for a while that the match was heading to a dangerous change..

but hell no, Arsenal continued the passing game and went 3-0 up in the 59th min when Rosicky smashed a low shot into the corner of the net. WOW

We are serious contenders for honours this season and only injuries and injuries can stop us now. With this season, players like Rosicky and Hleb are showing that they have matured and adapted to the english game, clinchy is playing better than Cashley Cole, and Flamini, at right back instead of midfield, is looking like he had played in the position for years

now the Internation break beckons and its Tottenham after, what a game that'll be, Berbatov is my dangerman and i hope he's in a arsenal jersey instead, but other than that, i don't see much of the Tottenham team, back to mid-table hangers maybe? We'll see.. Bring it on

Gunners are firing! Not all cyclinders yet and that's a warning!
