The thing about Grey

In this modern time and age, many things are respresented in grey.. no longer are lines drawn as clearly, no longer are black and white the only stand..

Somehow, the word flexibility can be a adequate representation of grey. By knowing what is white and yet deviating from it to achieve a fruitful return can be a testimonial for the sucess of flexibility. It is the very reason and justification for moving away from white to grey, all in the name of results and getting things done..

However, flexibility itself can be the guard dog that bites you back. For without a fixed set of rules and guidelines, the use of the flexibility becomes a handicap. Common term such as "play-by-ear" and "up to judgement" are used, but it is this lack of boundaries and lines-not-to-cross that can arouse frustrations..

In times of doubts, men simply seek a source of light, a white light that is, to lead the way and fall back to.. Sadly, sometimes, the brightest of light is not white, it is grey, and some, so grey that is tiptoes on black

I have always and will always stick closer to the white, while the grey is evitable, i pride myself as someone always seeking a white, abeit sometimes, the grey from the surrounding circumstances and people will tint me.. for i can no longer be just white, only the lightest shade of grey i should be..

How Grey are you now?

The thing about Wisdom

Isn't it ironic that something so meaningless can be named Wisdom?

Wisdom tooth refers to the third molar that develops in many young adults, some are affected when this third molar impacts, or affects the normal row of teeth, while others are able to live harmoniously with the old folks..

Generally, people tend to growth 4 third molars, some have less, some have more... for me, i have 4 growing out now. While i managed to bear with the initial development of the third molars and welcomed the extra grinding tools, one particular third molar is affecting the effective processing of food..

Quite disgusting, i shall describe how this molar is doing its best to see light.. with a lack of space among the current members, the third molar has began growth underneath the surface of the gum. In recent days, the tooth has developed a sudden motivation to match up to its neighbours. It the process, it is expanding its territory, at the expanse of my gums and general oral wellbeing...

The pain is getting bad and simple task such as drinking water and chewing food(soft or otherwise) is becoming a torture..

However, by virture of the enlistment act, i am a Operationally Ready Serviceman and i am proud to be serving my reservist duties, leading my small team of extraordinary gentlemen.. So i have decided not to extract my molars till the end of IMFWB meeting, till after 23Sept..

How lucky, that my cousin is having her marriage on the 27Sept, and i would not want to miss the big day and good food.. and so.. it seems like 28Sep is the most likely date.. till then.. hope my molar can be patient and not fight for a place.. i shall attempt to pacify the molar by chewing on the other side of the mouth only..

Third molar, u're dimissed! Fall out!

The thing about Leading

Its a challenge having to manage men older than you, some, more eperience, others, equally inadequate in knowledge and actual practice. Having to deal with people who are agitated are among the worse kind of job there can be, but having to do such a job once in a while is even more disturbing.

Somehow, people just have to be cool about it and get on with the duty. To quote the Head, "by virtue of section xx.. we have to.. " Haha..

And so, it has been a busy and tiring 3 days in my reservist duties. Having to lead and manage my team of 7 guys to cater to the demands expected of us. I do have a unique blend of experience and youth, but as long as the attitude remains correct, everything should go on smoothly.

One of the day, i overheard a Old Bird from another team giving some not-so-nice comment about someone. Quite sure he was refering to me. So be it. My men can and will judge me, but who is he to come to any conclusion when all we had interacted about was a list of names and a short conversation exchanging some information?

Some people are more judgemental than others, some, are just having a bad day... we are all back to serve our duty and count our days. May the days ahead be smooth sailing.

Team Delta, we are ready

Its not easy, to be me
