Of Arsenal Review III

The post "title lost" effect of thrashing opponents finally came true on a night where perhaps the best footballing team in the league takes on the worse team.

The victory didn't come at a surprise but a 8-goal game with a 4goal winning margin was something to shout about, even in the strongest of teams cannot always muster such margins, just ask how chelsea lost to lowly Barnsley in the cup, as liverfools did

With 2 games to go and the title out of sight, out of mind, this is the free flowing football that the gunners are capable of.

The latest news highlighted that flamini has agreed to join Milan. While good for Milan, you got yourself a great midfield and Arsenal would wish Flamini all the best with his new club and thank him for the good service he rendered in his 4 years with the club

This is the style of the gunners were no man is indispensable, no man will break the wage structure that allowed the club to fund a new stadium and continue to challenge for titles without breaking the bank to sign expensive players or offering huge contracts that over-value a player

This is football, where love for the game and love for the club should allow players to make a choice over monetary returns.

Tell that to Cashley Cole, tell that to Reyes(homesick), tell that to Flamini perhaps?

The flag will continue to fly

And did someone whisper that King Henry might return?

**Additional update: Only today's TODAY(Afternoon edition) carried a story on Flamini leaving for Milan thus far, will wait for the official word from Arsenal before i give the player his blessings

Of BIG SHOW

Friends who are familiar with my current job will know that i'm super stressed out and exhausted for this big event on friday. Battle starts from 9.30am but the preparations started way back when i did the first draft of the presentation and met my managing director

many more late nights in office and at home(tonight included) and today i missed my RMD class as i was rushing to complete the slides for tomorrow's dry run, the final run

i have not asked for any returns or recognition for all the effort.. i just need one thing, for the event to go well

Till then

Of Arsenal Review II

Things do appear better when the team wins, a 2-0 victory over Reading away from home.. this was kind of expected and it feels good to see the gunners deliver after a week of disappointment on 2 fronts.

Old man Graham advise for Wenger is to spend big money on 4 ready-made player. Sure, i'll love to see 4 of them coming in for crazy money:
1. Good Center Defender
2. Strong Right Winger
3. Strong Left Winger
4. Killer Striker

Bringing in any of the big names will be a blow to the talents that are brewing on the fringes of the first team and reserves..
1. Good Center Defender-Harvard Nordtveit, Vincent Van De Berg
2. Strong Right Winger
3. Strong Left Winger
Kieran Gibbs, Nacer Barazite Fran Merida
4. Killer Striker
Carlos Vela, Gilles Sunu

Players in the academy that are waiting to fill the gaps are aplenty.. so the ONE experienced player that i feel Wenger will get is a good Center Defender. 2nd priority is an old fashion winger that tears defence apart and whipped great crosses in

Could Walcott develop into that 2nd priority so that resources can be used to find that one good DC? I sure hope so.

WTB: Center Defender: Not prone to injuries, emotional outburst, good in the air, quick on the feet, good reading of the game, handles pressure and big matches well.

If you play FM, its at least at 18 for all the defenders statistics

Meanwhile,
Fabregas has repeated his desire to play at Arsenal.
Gilberto says he loves the club and wants to stay and fight for his place
Flamini has some 14days to decide if he wants to sign a new contract or find a new employer

I'll only comment on Flamini, he's good, but players who leave the Arsenal way of football don't always turn out better at other teams. (Think Henry, Overmars) So watch this space for updates.

Of Arsenal Review I

This shall be the start of my series of reviews of Arsenal as we are now left with nothing but pride to play for this season.. its a fitting time for reflection and for players to prove their value to the team..

As a fan, its common to criticize, to be the armchair manager and tell wenger who to choose, who to buy, how much to spend.. but this fan, have faith Professor Wenger's judgement.. he took a youthful team to challenge on 4 fronts: The champions league, the english premiership, the FA cup and the mickey mouse league cup(an even more youthful team) and we ended the season with nothing.. nothing you say? well.. there's always an experience factor that will make the difference.. and that is something that money can buy, as some would argue

Well this is the squad that wenger had at his disposable.. and when i say squad, i meant that these guys(and boys) really had a part in the campaign.. no doubt some were forced into action due to mounting injuries

1. Jens Lehmann
2. Abou Diaby
3. Bacary Sagna
4. Cesc Fabregas
5. Kolo Toure
6. Philippe Senderos
7. Tomas Rosicky
9. Eduardo
10. William Gallas
11. Robin Van Persie
13. Alexander Hleb
15. Denilsoni
16. Mathieu Flamini
17. Alexandre Song
19. Gilberto
20. Johan Djourou
21. Lukasz Fabianski
22. Gael Clichy
24. Manuel Almunia
25. Emmanuel Adebayor
26. Nicklas Bendtner
27. Emmanuel Eboue
30. Armand Traore
31. Justin Hoyte
32. Theo Walcott

Who stays? Who goes? Who's to decide?

Wenger does

In Wenger we trust.. Go GUNNERS!

Of Liverpool Trilogy

Liverpool, liverpool, liverpool..

Guess the name does bring a sick taste to the mouth now..

You know how sometimes things are not that bad but just that having too much of the same things becomes dreadful? Its like an overdose of liverpool's style of play.. so much for english football..

Liverpool Part ONE
A 1-1 draw, not that dull from my perspective, but a clear penalty denied and having the chase the game at half time seems to be a sick pattern that Arsenal has been following.. wenger is working harder than ever during the interval and trophies will not be won if we always keep chasing the game..

Liverpool Part TWO
Different competition, different players from the same old team, different stakes so as to speak.. 3 points for the taking at the Emirates, but we already knew it isn't going to be easy don't we? 1-1 draw again.. walcott had a good game, helb, flamini, fabregas, clinchy all looked tired.. oh well.. man utd slipped up too but we still have chelsea ahead of us..

Liverpool Part THREE
Perhaps more important than winning the league itself, European glory remains the elusive dream since that heartbreak against Barcelona where a fit enough Henry would have given us the medals.. but we had to contend with a runners-up medal that's probably somewhere in the dressing room if you look hard enough..

Can we win at anfield? yes we can..
Can we do it for the night? well.. depends.. really.. we don't need liverpool to play badly, we just need Arsenal to play well and victory will be certain.. perhaps a 1-1 draw in the first leg isn't that bad a results.. liverpool will be keen to guard that away goal and keep a clean sheet.. they can, they might.. but a defending liverpool will be easier to beat than an attacking one.. to quote "the harder i work, the luckier i get"

it's time to get some luck back into our game.. like how liverpool escaped with a penalty in the 1st leg..

liverpool are a different team in europe.. but so are arsenal

Drew the first, drew the second, time to win the third!

Of DSLR Wonders

Many more people are exploring the use of DSLR... with entry level DSLR becoming more affordable now.. i was one of those who bought a Nikon D40x some months ago..

The tool can only get you so far if you don't learn and practise the skills..

i remember how one friend asked our desert if the camera can capture water drops and freeze movement.. well.. this 2 pictures taking recently by me are a showcase of what can be done and achieve by the DSLR

here goes

pay attention to the flow of water
